I love September. The weather is glorious and there is something cozy and reassuring about heading into fall. Davy is officially walking! I just love watching his little bowlegged totter. He is very observant and is constantly surprising me with what he understands. He loves plopping down on pillows and letting me kiss his tummy. I could just eat him up. We have also fallen in love with the sandbox and the swing. It is so fun to see him enjoy himself so much. We are so lucky that he is ours.

Other things:
Eating: Butternut squash
Listening: "The Way of Kings" by Brandon Sanderson
Reading: "The Pioneers" by David McCullough
Watching: Hahahaha, like we have time to watch stuff
Loving: Warm cheeks after nap time

When daddy is there to help, mom plays too

He loved it

Fall is coming

Self pick garden of my dreams

All day long

Just sitting in his drawer talking away to himself

Coming to get mama!

He likes to crawl on our laps now after he picks out a book :)

Sick babes are the worst, but he is feeling much better now

Now, only a few more days until my mama and papa arrive!

Birthday Boy!

Last week we celebrated our darling, darling boy's first birthday. All the feelings, happy, sad, excited, exhausted were out in force. It has been both the longest and shortest year of our lives. Nothing can explain the joy, worry, and love that go into the first year of your child's life. We feel more complete than we ever have, satisfied and looking forward to our future in Switzerland. Our David has become such a sweet, smart, observant, and sometimes devious little man. He loves figuring out how things work (thanks to his dad), but I am glad to say that he appreciates a good fart noise as well (thank you mom). We are more excited than ever moving forward to the next phase, we love you, David, oh so much.

Happy  Birthday buddy, I promise next hear I won't make you wear a party hat

Birthday dinner

Okay, after we freed him from his miserable confines of the highchair he ate some cake and celebrated like an old pro

Cake all over the place

He loved the balloons, especially putting the ends in his mouth and smacking them with his hands

Opening birthday books from mom and dad

Birthday Giraffe named after Grandma Gloria

We visited a lovely park for his birthday "day"

He would have been content sitting and playing here all day long.

We were finally able to get out and about to explore some more of our beautiful country. It. Is. Stunning.

We found this little elf and decided to keep him.

Tuckered out
