Book Nook
Well, I am back after a lovely week spent with family. The weather has been crazy; lightning and sunshine five times a day. I received another shipment of lovely books from my dear dad. He is quite the bibliophile and has a wonderful collection. I feel so lucky that he has shared some of his passion with me. I spent most of Sunday sorting through the new, old, and very old books. I have as many out as I possibly can - they are stacked everywhere. The rest will have stay boxed up until we have more square footage and bigger bookcases. All of these lovely books have gotten me in the mood to read.... and I would be happy with a dedicated reading nook like any of these...

Modern Farmhouse
I'm in love with the modern farmhouse design. It may be because we are in the heart of the Midwest, but a lovely white house with a sprawl of farmland seems like heaven to me right now. This modern take on a very traditional and straight forward style of home is a great example of the meeting of old and new. I love how the materials remain the same, but the architecture is sleeker and more simple; the results are perfection!

Branches
Nothing says spring like blossoming branches. They aren't neat and perfectly arranged, yet they still exude a raw and natural beauty that, these days, seems hard to find. I recently changed out my winter red berry branches for white cherry blossoms. They make me smile everyday. One of my favorite things about them is their ability to fill in vertical space. We have 10 foot ceilings; having a bouquet that measures 4 feet tall sitting on a table 3 feet off the ground really draws the eye up, letting you enjoy every square inch of the space.
