Oh Baby

Even though I am a few years out on the whole motherhood thing, I have many friends with young families. This has put me in perpetual baby gift mode, which has given me a taste for nursery design.

One of the nice things about moving is the opportunity for new beginnings. There are many things I have been afraid to try, do, wear, etc... This fear is most apparent when it comes to fashion.

Growing up in Wyoming, one isn't necessarily daring with their clothing choices, but a new start is here, and I am ready to leave my fashion plateau in the past and move forward. My first purchase will be.... a beautiful sun hat. Not only will it protect my skin from the ever present sun, I think they look simply fabulous...
This sun hat must be straw and simple, I am not shooting for a look that screams Kentucky Derby, or fly fisherman.

Another week, more adventures...

We spent more time exploring our new home this weekend: we made a journey south to the beach as well as a visit to a state park. All is well as we learn new things about Texas everyday...

1. The use of the turn signal is optional (usually non-existant)
2. Pit Bulls are the breed of choice
3. 70 degrees is considered cool weather
4. Humidity sucks
5. Latin and country rule the radio
6. Should have paid more attention in Spanish class

There is troubling news this morning. According to an article on Yahoo News, hanging animal heads has appeared at # 2 in "The 10 Decorating Trends You Wish Would Go Away" list.
Really???
Antlers, as well as animal heads and hides have been used in homes for hundreds if not thousands of years, the hunting lodge, the castle, large estates around the world, this, I believe by definition contradicts "trend" in every way, animal heads are here to stay.
So I am calling you out Yahoo!
